ITIL Expert in Service Management |
Overview
The ITIL V3 Qualifications scheme is comprised of a series of ITIL certifications focused on various
aspects of ITIL Best Practice. Structured using a modular approach, there are four levels of certification
within the scheme:
By successfully passing an ITIL certification exam or certification module, you accumulate credits
which lead to an award of the ITIL Expert in Service Management. To be awarded the qualification
you need a total of 22 credits.
Are you new to ITIL? The entry level for the ITIL V3 Qualification scheme is the Foundation level.
This level focuses upon providing individuals with a strong grounding knowledge in the key concepts,
terminology and processes of ITIL V3. The ITIL Foundation qualification is achieved successfully answering
65% of the 40 question, one-hour multiple choice examination. We can book an exam date for you. Foundation
represents 2 credits towards the ITIL Expert qualification.
ITIL V3 Foundation Online Training Course
This is an 8-10 hour online ITIL training course that maps directly to ITIL Foundation V3 syllabus.
This course includes a full mock-exam, with questions randomly generated from a database of 150 questions.
Upon successful completion of the ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management, you
become eligible to take further ITIL certifications within the ITIL Qualification scheme.
Are you an existing ITIL Foundation certificate holder? Candidates with an existing ITIL
Foundation qualification can take the ITIL V3 Foundation Bridge course. If you have an existing
qualification you are given 1.5 credits towards the ITIL V3 Expert, and successfully passing the
V3 Bridging course provides a further 0.5 credits. This allows you to progress to the ITIL Intermediate
Level.
Aiming for the ITIL Expert? To be awarded the ITIL Expert in Service Management, you must accumulate 22 credits by passing
the ITIL Foundation level and a choice of ITIL Intermediate level modules. A candidate can take units from
either the "Management" focused Lifecycle Stream (5 possible units, worth 3 credits each) or the "Process"
focused Capabilities Stream (4 possible units, 4 credits each).
You can take modules from either stream, which when passed, help accumulate ITIL credits. The Managing
across the Lifecycle course (five credits) is required to tie together these stream modules to total 22
credits. This final course is a prerequisite for ITIL Expert Level.
Currently we have training for each of the Lifecycle Stream modules and for the Managing across
the Lifecycle course. Each course is intended to be used as part of a blended solution comprising
of classroom seminars, ITIL literature, and the online ITIL training courses.
ITIL V3 Service Design Online Training Course
This is a 4-5 hour online ITIL training course that maps directly to ITIL V3 syllabus for Service Design.
This course includes a printable mock exam with scenario based questions.
Have you gained 22 credits? The ITIL Expert level is automatically awarded to candidates once
they have achieved the prerequisite 22 credits from the ITIL Foundation and ITIL Intermediate levels. It
is at this stage you receive your ITIL Expert in Service Management. No examination or further course
is required.
The ITIL Master level is intended to assess a candidate's ability to apply and analyse ITIL V3 concepts
within a real world working environment. This level of the ITIL Qualification scheme is currently under
development and no courses are yet available.
